At the End of a Long Day

Today’s reading · the 247th day
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Jesus,
You said to come to You when I am worn out, and I am. I have been carrying things all day that were too heavy for me, and some of them were never mine to hold.
I lay them down now. The unfinished work. The conversation that went badly. The worry about tomorrow. Take the weight and let me rest.
Teach me Your way of carrying a life — unhurried, steady, gentle. Let me sleep tonight like someone who is not in charge of the world.
Amen.
A question to sit with
What did you carry today that you were never meant to carry alone?
