Terms of Use

Last updated 4 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Shoshin Systems (the Philippines) for your use of Selah at selah.shoshinsystems.net. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Selah. Your privacy is covered separately in the Privacy Policy.

What Selah is

Selah gives you one original prayer, one Scripture verse, and one reflection question each day, and a private journal to write your own prayers. It is a personal devotional tool, not counselling, medical, legal, or crisis support. If you are in distress, please reach out to a person who can help.

Your account

Give accurate details when you sign up, keep your password to yourself, and let Shoshin Systems know if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One account is for one person; do not share it.

Using Selah fairly

Please do not:

  • try to break, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its server;
  • use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to hit the app or collect its content in bulk;
  • copy or redistribute the prayers or reflections beyond your own personal use;
  • use Selah to break the law or to harm others.

Security researchers acting in good faith should follow /.well-known/security.txt rather than these restrictions.

What you write

Your journal entries are yours. You give Shoshin Systems only the permission needed to store them and show them back to you — nothing more. Shoshin Systems does not read, publish, analyse, or train anything on your entries. You are responsible for what you choose to write, and you can edit or delete any entry, or your whole account, at any time.

The prayers and the Scripture

The prayers, titles, and reflections in Selah are original works and remain the property of Shoshin Systems. You may read and use them for your own devotional life, but not republish or redistribute them. The Scripture text is the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which its publisher has released into the public domain.

Availability and “as is”

Selah is provided free of charge and “as is”. Shoshin Systems does its best to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but does not promise that the app will always be available, error-free, or unchanged. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the service may be paused or discontinued. To the fullest extent the law allows, Shoshin Systems is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Selah, and its total liability to you is limited to what you have paid for the service — which is nothing.

Ending your use

You can delete your account whenever you want from the Account screen. Shoshin Systems may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, and will try to give notice where it is reasonable to do so.

Changes and governing law

If these terms change, the date above changes and a material change is noted on this page; continuing to use Selah means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines.
